Course takeaways (100–200 words)
at the beginning of an assignment it is much better to make mistakes then to be Cautious. I have learned to unload any idea or visual, even if i am unsure of it, on to paper. I found that throughout the creative process it leads to better outcomes to refine down messy, incomplete, ideas than to try to craft the perfect piece from the start. From this course, I also learned how important it is to sketch ideas out on paper before taking to the computer. Because with Design softwares there are so many ways to distract oneself from the task at hand---nitpicking fonts, colors, layouts, etc,. -- so it is better to spend more time on paper figuring out the layout than using a computer to flesh the idea out.
Advocacy Manifesto: What is advocacy to you? (150–300 words)
Advocacy is to speak up-- loudly and knowingly. It is to pick a side and stand by those who are already on it and Aim to pull others towards it. Advocacy is not the easy way out. It is much harder to advocate for something than to have problems with an issue and remain passive in it. Advocacy is what it takes for change to be made and smaller voices to be heard. It is to do something that may hurt one's reputation or carrer, but doing it anyways. Advocacy can be found in many forms; wether it is in a physical, digital, or oral way advocacy is all around us. Advocacy is using your opponents weight against them. It does not always have to be loud and robust, in order to be effective. Advocacy can be murmured throughout a crowd and find its way to the front. It does not need to be graffitied over a billboard or yelled from the rooftop; it can be simple it can be quiet yet still be more powerful than any other force.
